Description: The is not your mother’s garlic bread, it’s Emeril’s kicked-up version! And it’s so good you’ll want to put it repeat! SPICY GARLIC BREAD MAKES 12 TO 14 SERVINGS 3 garlic cloves, chopped 1 large egg* 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper 1/2 cup vegetable or extra-virgin olive oil 1/2 cup chopped pickled jalapenos 1 cup thinly sliced artichoke hearts 4 ounces grated Parmesan cheese 1 long loaf French bread, halved lengthwise Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In the bowl of a food processor combine, egg, lemon juice, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Process mixture until pureed. In a slow steady stream, add oil and continue to process until mixture has thicken and emulsified. Transfer mixture to a medium bowl. Add jalapenos, artichoke hearts, and parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until well combined. Spread mixture over cut sides of bread to cover. Transfer to oven and bake until golden and bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before slicing. NOTE: Raw eggs should not be used in food prepared for pregnant women, babies, young children, the elderly, or anyone whose health is compromised.
